Vartov
A part of the Climate Bottom Meeting activities takes place at Vartov Square, right next to the Town Hall tower.
Between the 5th and 18th of December from 11:00 to 18:00, you will be able to meet an abundance of contributions about the climate and sustainability issues from all around the world - all set up in a exciting artistic frame work. Here you will be able to engage yourself in various ways and get a new perspective on the climate and sustainability issues.
On Vartov Square you will be able meet a millons of years old climate landmark that reminds us of the ellusiveness of history. Red flashes marks the Seven Meters the Grenland ice sheet's volatility. And on the big picture wall you can sign up for the need for a climate target of 350 ppm - the concentration af CO2, which we shall return to, if we are to maintain the world as we know it today. Human sized conches are being lighted in different patterns.
In a large pyramid-shaped exhibition tent, you can see The Green City, an exhibition of the proposals for a competition for pocket parks, urban greening and enhanced living space in the historic Copenhagen. And in Miljøpunkt's windows there is a digital exhibition of Peter Menzels billeder from Hungry Planet, which gives us a unique insight into what we humans eat around the world
In Large Yurt - a Mongolian nomadic tent - there will be a World Café with climate dialogues. Here you can throughout the day get a warm cup of tea. Each day between 12.30-15.30 there will be examples of the large bottom meeting program with exciting contributions from around the world. Here you will be able to meet capacities like Albert Dawson, Maurice Strong, Jonathan Dawson, Aili Pyhälä, Bill McKibben and many, many more (see schedule).
Littlle Yurt is a place of silence and inward looking. Here you can collect your thoughts for a moment, exhaust, let the world behind. In Little Yurt there will on 08.12. be made a sandmandala for global harmonization, og you will on some days be able to participate in sound meditations.
The Scrap Heap Moountain is an installation of waste, a symbol of industrial and human society incessant production of waste, which constitutes an unattractive legacy for future generations. Here, musicians and artists every day between 15.30-17.00 will spin a yarn of the concept of waste. Meet here for example Stole-Anders, Thomas Agerbo, Kasper Schultz and In a Silent Wave.
In Miljøpunkt Indre By-Christianshavns premises on Rådhuspladsen 77 st tv, there will during the two weeks be a series of special events like for example christmas re-cut 06.12. Most days there will be documentaries from 17:00. See for example The Weeping Camel, The Story of Stuff, Home, Satoyama and a series of films that tells about Ecovillage around the world and their handling of the climate challenge..
